Notes for Kay PERKINS
Kay P. (Perkins) Cloud, age 84, of Willow Street, PA, died peacefully on October 4, 2017 at the Willow Valley Retirement Communities.
Born in Elkton, MD on December 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Col. Harold T. Perkins and Florence Miller Perkins.
A 1949 graduate of Elkton High School, Kay attended Towson College in MD and the U of Delaware. She retired from Columbia Gas Corporation in Wilmington, DE as Benefits Manager.
Kay was a mentor to young women in her business life. Her love of children led her to volunteer to teach Sunday School, serve as Den mother for Cub Scouts and organize a 4-H club for African American children. She enjoyed swimming, boating, camping, singing and playing piano.
Kay was committed to the United Methodist Church serving in the conference in numerous positions, including Council on Finance and Admin. and Chairman to the Conference Board of Pensions. She also served as a delegate to the Jurisdictional Conferences and the Global General Conference of the UMC.
She is survived by her husband, R. Taylor Cloud; daughter, Sherrie Seward Lyon of Homer, AK; stepdaughter, Jamee Cloud Newman of Leesburg, VA; stepson, Dean Cloud of Sierra Madre, CA; 4 grandchildren and soon to be 8 great grandchildren.
There will be a Memorial Service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Lancaster, PA.
