Notes for Andrew Francis CIGAS

Andrew F. Cigas, age 82, of Coatesville, died on Friday, April 5, 2008, at Brandywine Hospital.

Husband of Ann Bedrick Cigas, he was born in Coatesville on Jan. 16, 1926, the son of the late Michael and Suzanne Kudroc Cigas.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific with the Navy.

A graduate of the Coatesville Schools, he became founder of Cigas Machine Shop, Inc., of Coatesville, in November 1958. The company is celebrating 50 years this year. A machinist by trade and a hard-working man, he was very proud of his achievements in the business.

Andy was member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church of Coatesville and was a strong supporter of the parish.

A close family man, Andy is survived by his wife, Ann; two children, Ann Marie Good and her husband, Robert W. Good, of Downingtown, and Craig J. Cigas of Downingtown; two grandchildren, Paul E. Teare of Spring City, and Timothy A. Teare of Sadsburyville; a great grandson, Cameron P. Teare; and a sister, Betty C. Hracho of Coatesville.

He was predeceased by a son, Andrew F. Cigas, on March 2, 1999, as well as three brothers and one sister.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Charles Street in Coatesville. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Interment is in the Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Sadsburyville.
