Meryl Pyle Johnston of Naples, FL Meryl Pyle Johnston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Avow Hospice House in Naples, FL. Meryl was born May 2, 1932, in Upper Darby, PA to Jack and Myrtle Pyle. She attended the local schools in Upper Darby and later attended the Wharton School, Univ. of Pa. attaining a certificate in Real Estate Management. She retired as the Assistant Director of Human Resources of the Wharton School in 1993 after 20 years of service and she and her husband retired to Naples, FL, residing at the Vanderbilt Country Club since 1999. Meryl is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joseph Sr., three children Joseph Jr. (Suzette), Michael (Donna), and Dr. Jeanne Marie, five grandchildren Christine, Michael, Kathleen, Sarah and Anna and two great-grandchildren Sofia and Thomas John. Meryl was active in the Vanderbilt Vixens water aerobics group prior to her untimely stroke, as well as active in the Bridge and Mah Jongg groups. She also loved to participate in the monthly Trivia Challenges. A viewing for family only is scheduled at the Fuller Funeral Home on March 11, 2017, from 2-4pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church at a later date, In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church, Naples, FL. in Meryl’s name.
