Notes for William Ralston SHULER

William Shuler was widely known and the landlord of the Shuler House hotel. Mr. Shuler was a farmer until 1859, when he changed occupation, moved to Pughtown and assisted his brother, Lewis Shuler, with the management of the brothers general store. In 1868, he moved to Birdsboro and took on the management of the Washington House. After a year there, he took control of the Farmers Hotel in Pottstown, changing it's name to the Shuler House. The Shuler Hotel gained a reputation as one of the best in Interior Eastern Pennsylvania.
