Notes for Peggy Marie CALHOUN
Peggy Marie Lynam, 68, of Clayton, DE passed away peacefully on February 15, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Ron Lynam, Sr., in 2016.
Peggy was born in Bristol, Tennessee on February 12, 1949 to the late Ted and Edith Calhoun. She spent her childhood in Ogletown, DE and graduated from Christiana High School in 1968. Peggy was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting Memaw.
Peggy enjoyed baking, decorating her home for holidays throughout the year, traveling, “glamping”, and gardening. She was happiest when surrounded by her family.
Peggy is survived by a daughter Rhonda Burns and husband Bob, a son Ron Lynam Jr. and wife Victoria; her grandchildren, Meredith, Trace, Olivia and Madison; a brother Ted (Arlene) and sister Donna (James); many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by the group of friends known as the “siblings”. Ron’s siblings Judi Nulton (Bob), Marie Bollman (Herb), Alvin Lynam (Barbara) made many happy memories together with Ron and Peggy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Misleh and his staff, especially, Jodie and Michelle at Helen Graham Cancer Center for their loving support and care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23rd from 5-7 pm at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 28th at 11 am at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local 4-h or a children’s charity of your choice.
