Notes for Harlan Walker TWEED
Harlan Walker Tweed, 85, of Mazeppa MN. And formerly of Newark, Delaware, passed away Saturday September 10, 2016 at his home.
He was born June 22, 1931 in Newark, DE, to Harlan and Hannah (Mercer) Tweed. Harlan graduated from Newark High School; attended and graduated from both the Goldie Beacom Business School and the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School of Business).
On April 15, 1972 Harlan married Beverly Sibley at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mazeppa. He was employed by the DuPont Company in Delaware and retired after 39 years as a senior analyst. Harlan served our country in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and was a member of the Mazeppa American Legion and the Oronoco VFW. Harlan enjoyed maintaining his antique clocks, was a dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan, but most of all, loved to spend time enjoying his family.
Harlan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law George Cullen.
Harlan is survived by his wife Beverly; four children, Harlan M. Tweed of Mazeppa; Garrett (April) Tweed of Pennsylvania; Joe (Amanda) Tweed of Zumbro Falls; and Lela Tweed of Mazeppa; sister Pearl Cullen of Newark, DE and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Aaron and Emily. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mazeppa Cemetery or St. John’s Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday September 14, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mazeppa (232 Cherry Street East), with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
