Notes for Harry Creci Jr. YARROW
HARRY C. JR., of Beaufort SC, formerly of Wayne PA, passed away peacefully in his home on July 11, 2016. He was the son of the late Harry C. Yarrow and Francis Hagy Yarrow of Ardmore PA; beloved father of Harry Yarrow III, Peter (Joyce) Yarrow, Anne Walters, and Grady (Stacey) Yarrow.
Harry was a natural athlete and excelled at sports from an early age. He attended The Haverford School, where he won more varsity letters than anyone in the history of the school and also received the Maxwell award and the Roberts Cup. He signed a professional baseball contract with the St. Louis Browns. He also enjoyed singing with the Saint Anthony Club during his time at Trinity College.
Harry was a member of the City Troop of Philadelphia and was a Second Lieutenant in the Army. He was passionate about business and owned the Bryn Mawr Car Wash, the Paoli Local Restaurant in Strafford and most significantly, Hungerford Insulation in Wayne. He would proudly say he owed everything to his dearest friend, Homer Hungerford.
Harry loved music and collecting antiques. He always had a kind word for everyone and he cherished his friends.
He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grand-children, and his many loving friends and neighbors.
A private burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA.
