Notes for Shirley SWISHER
Shirley Swisher Finkey of Downingtown Shirley Swisher Finkey, 81 of Downingtown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester. She was the beloved wife of Fred A. Finkey, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Cornelia Swisher. Over the years Shirley had several places of employment. One of her favorites was at the Daily Local News in West Chester. Those that knew Shirley were quickly aware of her sharp wit and interesting sense of humor. She could make you laugh and smile all while scratching your head. She adored spending time with and taking pictures of her grandchildren. If there was a local bingo game to be had you could find her there with her niece Cathy Samms. She had fun fishing while on family vacations with her grandchildren. At home she enjoyed watching QVC, Lucille Ball or listening to her all time favorite Johnny Mathis. Shirley is survived by her loving husband Fred, her three children Fred A. Finkey Jr. (Jennifer), Rebekah C. Johnson (Michael), Jennifer E. Dwyer (Joseph); brothers Leroy (Dorothy) Swisher, Gerald Swisher; sisters Catherine (James) Rice, Amy (Paul) Hoffman and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her oldest brother Clyde Swisher Sr.
