Notes for Joseph Charles SICOLI

Joseph Charles Sicoli, formerly of West Chester Joseph Charles Sicoli, 101, died in Kansas City, MO on 05/29/2016. He is survived by his children, John (Carol), David Sicoli and Joan Bachner (George), his grandchildren; Christopher (Susan), Deborah (Scott Strausbaugh) and John (Danielle) and by his great grandchildren; Karl, Gehrig Sicoli-Strasbaugh, Jack and Layla. Joseph’s surviving siblings are Letitia Hemphill, Isabel Madden, Mary Jane McCool and Domenic Sicoli. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret M. (McCool) Sicoli. Joseph was one of the last surviving members of West Chester High School’s (Henderson High School) only undefeated football team in 1931. Joe was a barber in West Chester, PA. He served during WWII in a glider unit of the U.S. Army, Airborne Infantry, 13th Airborne Division – the Golden Unicorns. During his service he earned a bronze star. Joseph joined the YMCA when he was 9 years old and has been a member of the YMCA for nearly all of his life - most recently of the Platte County YMCA in Parkville, MO. His last workout at the YMCA was 05/10/2016. Pursuant to his wishes, Joe was cremated and will be buried in a private interment in St. Agnes cemetery, West Chester, PA.
