Notes for Harry James SNYDER

Harry James Snyder Sr., 76, of Chester, died Jan. 5 at home.

Born in Linwood, Lower Chichester, he was a former stage builder for the Sun Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. in Chester.

Mr. Snyder was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Snyder enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1521, Chester.

An avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, he also enjoyed fishing along the Eastern Shore.

He was the widower of Martha A. Muhlhofer Snyder, who died in 1994; and father of Harry "Butch" Snyder Jr., who died in 2001. He was also the brother of the late Les Snyder and Bernice Brown.

Survivors: Two sons, Ralph Snyder of Chester, Kevin Snyder of Middletown; daughters, Florence Beitzel of Chester, Carol Demers-Slotterback of Middletown; brothers, Bob Snyder of Millsboro, Del., Chuck Snyder of Eddystone, and Bill Snyder of Edgewood, Md.; sister, Mary Benigni of Linwood; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
