Longtime Media resident; gifted artist; animal lover
Sally Woodward Ross, 80, of Media, died May 20 at home.
Born in Lansdowne, she was reared in Moylan and resided in Media for 52 years.
She was a graduate of Nether Providence High School and Linden Hall Junior College, where she received a degree in accounting. She also graduated from Moravian College with a degree in history.
Mrs. Ross was employed by Ronard-Kard-O-Lite in research and development and production before retiring. She previously worked for Ross Construction as a bookkeeper for 13 years and Ross Concrete for 15 years in sales and dispatch.
She was a member of the Wallingford Presbyterian Church and the Middletown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years.
Mrs. Ross enjoyed traveling, camping, snow skiing and was an animal lover. She was a gifted artist who created beautiful hand-painted trays, reverse painting on glass and other artwork for family and friends. She enjoyed early American decorating and taught courses in early American tole painting.
Survivors: Husband of 52 years, William M. Ross Jr.; daughters, Jean "Reds" E. Ross of Media and Barbara Ann Daland of Landenberg; brother, Albert P. Woodward of Drexel Hill; one grandson.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rigby Harting and Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St., Media.
Burial: Private.
