Notes for Chester W. HALE

Chester W. Hale, 77, of Aston, a retired welder, died Dec. 7 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

Born in Locksley, Pa., he was the son of the late John H. and Amy R. Congleton Hale. He was a 60-year resident of Aston.

Mr. Hale worked as a welder for General Crushed Stone in Glen Mills for 41 years. He later delivered auto parts for Tabor's Auto Parts in Claymont, Del., for 17 years.

He played baseball for more than 25 years in Delaware County and bowled in leagues at the former Brookhaven Lanes.

He was the father of the late Kenneth C. Hale, who died in 1989.

Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Barbara J. Brinton Hale daughters, Joyce A. Sanford of Philadelphia, Deborah L. Hale of Ballston Spa, N.Y. sisters, Bertha McCardell of West Chester, Ethel Dallett of Cheyney three grandchildren.

Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Road, Aston.

Visitation: After 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial: Private.
