Notes for Clarence Alvin Jr. HALTER
C. Alvin Halter, Jr., 69, of Odessa, loving and dedicated husband, father, Poppi, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on March 16, 2016 after fighting valiantly to overcome his illness, at his home that he, his wife, friends and family built.
Born in Wilmington, DE to the late Bessie Mae (Parker) and C. Alvin Halter, Sr., he grew up in Minquadale and attended DeLaWarr High School. He had a strong spirit and was devoted to his family. He enjoyed spending time with everyone and telling his stories. He especially loved going to Disney World and taking each of his grandchildren there; instilling lasting memories and family values.
Al retired after 50 years from State Drywall. He had an eye for detail and always showed pride in his work, which was evident in his tireless work ethic. He enjoyed collecting his Corvettes, fishing, camping and traveling. He found enjoyment in bowling on leagues with his friends and family. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and took pleasure in Little League baseball where he was coach, umpire, and player agent for New Castle and later MOT Little Leagues. He was happy to play on MOT Big Ball League and raise money for their charities. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything. He took great pride in helping out his fellow man; especially neighbors, friends and family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother David.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeanie, with whom he shared their 50th wedding anniversary in 2015, his sons, Michael and Jeremy, his daughter, Chrystian and daughter-in-law Megan, his grandchildren, Cody, Matthew, Lacey, Jonah and Mason, his siblings, Larry (Rose), Trisha Smith, Thelma Stewart, Bobby (Sharon), Dee Ordriezek, Perla Ivey (Ray) and Eli, his Goddaughters, Pauline (Miss) Dryden, Beverly Farley and Kimberly Sulpizi, and numerous nieces and nephews; each holding a special place in his heart.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Tuesday, March 22 at 12 Noon, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE.
