Notes for George F. PEGLER
George F. Pegler of Downingtown George F. Pegler, Sr., 84, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, at St. Martha Manor in Downingtown. He was the loving husband of Eleanor Singer Pegler, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late James Eldredge Pegler and Ada Baker Pegler. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He then was the owner/operator for George F. Pegler Disposal Service for 30 years before retiring. His life revolved around his family and he loved spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his wife, George is survived by his five children, George F. Jr., (Nancy), Bryan K., Samuel E. (Bonnie), Joan M. and John R. (Kazu). He is also survived by a sister, Lois Quay; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward, James and Herbert. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Grove United Methodist Cemetery, West Chester.
