Notes for Dorothy L. ZEBLEY
Dorothy L. (Zebley) Wilson, "Dot" passed away on January 19, 2016 in Christiana Hospital. Born in Booth's Corner, PA, on April 5, 1929 to the late George and Kate (Smith) Zebley, Dot married John (Jack) P. Wilson in 1948. She moved to a dairy farm in Townsend, DE in 1952, where she became an active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, as a lay leader and a Sunday school teacher, serving on the Administrative Board and the UMW. For 18 years she held a position as a secretary in the Appoquinimink School District. Dot will be remembered fondly in the various organizations in which she held several offices: Townsend Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Townsend Women's Club, Delaware Hospice, and the 9-WDG Association. Her hobbies included golf, reading, bridge, and cooking. Dot is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Jack, twin brothers Warren and Wallace, and G. Taylor Zebley.
Dot is survived by her daughter L. Gail Van Deusen (James Finn), son David K. (Sharon) Wilson, grandchildren Jill Van Deusen (Justin Totten), Julie (Brian) Savage, Kelley (Eric) Kochanowski, Christopher Wilson, Kimberly Wilson (Bryan Sweetman), greatgrandchildren, Tyler, Harrison, and Addison Kochanowski, Christopher Wilson Jr. and Bernie Savage.
Family and friends will gather for the viewing on Thursday Evening, January 28th from 7-9 pm at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown DE 19709.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29th at 11am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 209 Main Street, Townsend DE 19734. A luncheon will follow immediately after the funeral service at Townsend Fire Hall 107 Main Street, Townsend DE 19734. Interment will be Private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dot's name to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, 100 E. 10th St. Wilmington DE. 19801 or to Immanuel United Methodist Church.
