Formerly of Media Florence M. Hipple Hoopes, 98, formerly of Media, a longtime Sears & Roebuck employee, died Dec. 12 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, Mo. Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Hoopes was a telephone supervisor for Sears & Roebuck in their Media office for many years, retiring in 1970. She loved to cook and entertain. She was active with the First Baptist Church of Media before moving to Joplin in 1981. Mrs. Hoopes was the daughter of the late Adolph and Cora Schmidt DeGuenther. She was predeceased by husbands Frank Hipple and John Hoops. She was the mother of the late William Hipple and John Hipple. She was the grandmother of the late Jeffrey Hipple. Survivors: Son, Robert G. Hipple of Media; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Service and Burial: Private Arrangements: J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, Media.
