Notes for Deborah H. SMEDLEY
Deborah Smedley Albrecht, 93, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, in the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born in Narberth on January 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Quimby and Hazel De Remer Ward Smedley.
Deborah was an office manager for Texas Eastern Transmission in Vermont. She was a 1939 graduate of Lower Merion High School, and continued her education at the Philadelphia Secretarial School. She was a member of the Hershey ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Deborah greatly enjoyed gardening, knitting, and reading.
In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Blair Robson Albrecht; and her two sisters, Elizabeth Smedley and Jane Thorn.
She is survived by seven sons, Thomas Blair Albrecht of Friendswood, TX, David Stuart Albrecht husband of Rebecca of Hanover, Jonathan Alan Albrecht of Round Lake, NY, Stephen Smedley Albrecht, Charles Wesley Albrecht and Robert Harmer Albrecht all of Sunderland, VT, and James Andrew Albrecht husband of Nathalie of Elkton, MD; one daughter, Deborah Lee Albrecht of Round Lake, NY; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren and one more soon to be born.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11 AM in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4788 Union Deposit Road, Harrisburg. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia. A viewing will be held in the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of the service.
Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children – Philadelphia, 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, please write “Philadelphia” in the memo line.
