Notes for Frank Arnold GRUBB
Franklin, the last son of Frank and Esther Grubb, became President of Frank W. Grubb & Sons upon the death of his older brother Paul. He married Mildred K. and had a daughter. They lived at 112 Boxwood Road in Woodcrest, Delaware.
FRANK ARNOLD GRUBB, 89, of Leader Nursing Home, Brandywine Hundred, died there Sunday of heart failure.
Mr. Grubb was born in Wilmington. He was a bookkeeper for the DuPont Co. in Parlin, N.J., in the 1920s and later for Lorrilard Tobacco Co., Parlin, before returning to Wilmington to work for his father and brothers in the family lumber compamny, Frank W. Grubb & Sons. He held various positions including vice president. He was president until his retirement in 1957, when he sold his interest in the company.
He lived in Ocean City, N.J., before moving to Florida. He returned to Wilmington several years ago and lived at Leader Nursing Home for the past three years.
He was a member of Lulu Temple in the 1930s and was a 32nd-degree Mason.
His wife, Mildred Tinsman Grubb, died in 1986. He is survived by a daughter, Barbara G. Angell of Wilmington; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Sharpley, where family and friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Concord Pike, Wilmington.
