Notes for Howard M. STRINGER

Howard "Mike" Stringer, 65, of Elverson, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at home after a short illness.

He was the husband of Marian E. Cornog Stringer.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the Joseph and Mary Reid Stringer.

He served his country honorably as a U.S. Marine and was employed by Wamac Industries in West Chester as a precision machinist.

His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, photography, reading, NASCAR racing, sports, classic cars, gardening his tomato plants and relaxing in his classic La-Z- Boy recliner.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by two children, Ronald Gary Hoopes and wife, Jennifer of Glenmoore, and Marianne E. Stringer of Birdsboro; four sisters, Mary Walton of West Brandywine, Eleanor Fuller of Caln, Elizabeth Harrington of Parkesburg and Sarah Jane Heidelbaugh of West Brandywine; and two brothers, Bernard Stringer and his wife, Shirley, and Charles Stringer, all of Guthriesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, James and Joseph Stringer.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Founds Funeral Home Inc., High and Union streets, West Chester, 610-696-0134, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will be private.
