Notes for Phyllis MELLO

Phyllis M. Townsend of Birdsboro Phyllis M. Townsend, 72, of Robeson Twp., Berks Co., Pa. passed away on November 10, 2015 at St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of the late James F. Mello and the late Amanda (Gaskell) Mello. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Townsend, Jr. She was a project and accounts manager for various firms throughout her life. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Manheim and National Assoc. for Female Executives. Phyllis loved traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She was also known for her no nonsense sense of humor and her generosity. She is survived by two daughters, Heather L. Mello of York, Pa. and Jennifer L. Howley of Birdsboro, Pa., two sons, David W. Townsend of Philadelphia and Joseph E. Townsend, III of Montana, two brothers, William Mello of Sacramento, Calif. and Mickey Mello of San Francisco, Calif., one sister, Francis Panzino of Colorado, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Gayle F. Pusey and one brother James F. Mello. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Birdsboro Sportsmen’s Club, 227 N. Furnace St., Birdsboro, PA 19508. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 59 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508. If flowers must be sent, please send them to 3653 Main St. Birdsboro, PA 19508.
