December 10, 1931-June 13, 2007. Age 75, of Wilmington, DE, died suddenly on Wednesday, June 13, 2007.Born in Wilmington, Mr. Pyle was the son of the late Ellwood S. and Ethel Pyle. He was a Retired Captain of the Wilmington Fire Department and a Retired State Fire Marshal. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and a gentle laugh.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Read Pyle; his children and their spouses, Darla and Steve Groves, Laurie and Harry Alinkoff, Mike and Anne Pyle, Mark and Jill Pyle, Matt Pyle, and Kelly and Jody Thompson. He will be especially missed by his loving grandchildren, Kathy, Chrissy, Jessica, Steven, Kimberly, Jamie G., Alex, Sean, Shannon, Kristen, Sammy, Jamie O., and Colin; his great grandson, Brenden, and was awaiting the arrival of his great granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister, Lillian Collas and his brother, Dale Pyle. He was predeceased by his sister, Rebecca Jeffries.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 11 am at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, where friends are invited to visitation after 10 am. Interment will be private.
