Notes for Mary Ann WYLIE
Mary Ann W. Komar, formerly of West Chester Mary Ann W. Komar, 84, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Granite Farms Estates. She was the Beloved wife of John (Jack) D. Komar. Born in Birmingham Twp., Chester County, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late John Wylie and Florence Elizabeth (Wood) Wylie. She was predeceased by her sister Florence Wylie and brothers John M., Robert, and William W. (Jane) Wylie. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mary Ann graduated from West Chester High school in 1949, attended Beaver College and completed her degree at Goldey Beacon Business College. Her employment career included Secretary to the President and Dean of Academic Affairs at West Chester State Teachers College as well as 30 years as a bookkeeper for a Real Estate and bank holding company. Mary Ann served as president of the Chester County Hospital Auxiliary and afterword was a member of the Foundation’s Board. Mary Ann was a 25 year member of Washington Memorial Chapel of Valley Forge, where she served on the vestry, worked as volunteer for the cabin shop, and played Martha Washington, head of kitchen, in the annual Dogwood fair. Mary Ann was a life member of North East Yacht Club, where she served as the Mermaids President and was a retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment is private.
