Notes for Mary Sprigg Belt MAGRUDER

Mary was born in 1868, the daughter of Edward Walter Magruder and Elizabeth Mullikin Magruder. She was orphaned in early childhood, first by the death of her mother and then by the loss of her father. After the death of her father, Mary and her brother, John Baldwin Magruder were taken into the home of their aunt, Mrs. Charles Clagett. Mary later went to Baltimore to live with Mrs. Archibald Smith Magruder, the widow of her great uncle who had 2 daughters.

Mary married Edward Ingersol Wade of Georgia and they had one daughter, Ruth who married Adrian Hughes of Baltimore.
