Notes for Deborah KIRK
Deborah K. Kerber of Marple died, May 11, in her residence. She was 79.
Born in West Chester, Mrs. Kerber (nee Kirk), lived in Marple for 78 years. She graduated from Marple Newtown High School in 1946.
Mrs. Kerber worked as an Operator for Bell Telephone, a School Bus Driver, and in the cafeteria at Paxon Hollow Middle School.
She was a volunteer Girl Scout leader, Marple Rec. chaperone, and 4th of July Parade Committee member and judge. She also was a member of the Marple New-town Boosters and Marine Corps League Auxiliary; and volunteered at Radnor Friends Meeting.
She was honored by the United Way as Volunteer of the Year in 1994 for her 25 years of volunteer service to the Melmark Home in Berwyn.
Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, I. Newton Kerber, who died in 2001, Mrs. Kerber is survived by her sons Kerby Kerber and Kirk Kerber; daughters D. Elaine Parks, Jayne K. Hadden, and Katherine Wiercinski; 13 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
