G. Lupton Broomell Jr., a retired executive, died Wednesday at Meadowood in Worcester. He was 84.
Mr. Broomell, of Worcester, worked for the former Leeds & Northrup in North Wales as an executive vice president. He retired after 35 years with the Industrial Instrument Co. He formerly resided in Lower Gwynedd and Boca Raton, Fla.
He attended Swarthmore College.
He was of the Quaker faith.
Born Feb. 2, 1916 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late G. Lupton and Anna (Pettit) Broomell.
Surviving are his wife, Jean (Culp) Broomell; three daughters, Louise Harris of Wayland, Mass., Barbara Parry of Wyndmoor and Margary Swanson of Poway, Calif.; a son, John of Bryn Mawr; nine grandchildren and a sister, Hannah Wilson of Medford, N.J.
The funeral will be private.
