Notes for Parke Myles DAGUE

Parke Myles Dague, 97, of Willow Valley, Lancaster, PA went home to be with his Lord on March 18, 2016.

He was born on December 4, 1918 in West Fallowfield Twp., Chester County, PA the second son of Jeannette B. and J. Parke Dague. He was preceded in death by his loving and faithful wife of 64 years, Martha Coates Dague, who died June 7, 2007.

He attended schools in Parkesburg and Cochranville, PA and upon graduation in 1937 he worked for George F. Gill, general contractor in Cochranville. Parke served four years in the Army during WWII, assigned to the Aviation Corp of Engineers in the South Pacific as Captain in charge of building runways for bombers in Guam. He also attended engineering schools in Orlando, FL and Fort Belvoir, VA. Upon discharge from the service he began a career with the Veterans Administration as Engineer Officer serving at the VA hospital in Butler, PA, Lyons, NJ and Coatesville, PA. He retired after 34 years of service with the Veterans Administration.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lancaster, PA and in earlier years served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at the Bible Presbyterian Church of Coatesville, PA and Bible Baptist Church in West Chester, PA.

He was a member and past Master of Highland Grange No. 980, Cochranville, PA, life member of D.A.V. and a member of the National Association of Federal Employees.

Survived by two daughters, Linda married to John Garner of Lancaster, PA and Ruth married to Bruce Cosman of Smithville, OK and five grandchildren; Daniel Garner and wife Julie, Andrew Garner and wife Kristina, Cecil Cosman, Aaron Cosman and wife Tiffany and Tamara Magnusson and husband John, eight great grandchildren; Jude Malcolm Garner, John Harvey Magnusson, Micah Stanton Garner, Katherine Mae Garner, Xavier Allen Garner, Parker Malcom Cosman, Owen Bruce Casman and Evren Parke Garner and one sister Janet, married to the late William Yetter of Coatesville, PA. His brother, Evans B. Dague preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00am at the Friendship Methodist Church, 123 E. Friendship Church Road, Coatesville, PA with visitation at the Church from 10:30am to the time of the service.
