Notes for Robert KENDERDINE

For refusing to do military service he was put in Norristown Jail in May, 1818 to serve eight months. Solomon Lukens (1795-1876) was imprisoned with him at the same time a similar offence. After serving 29 weeks they were pardoned by the Governor and released.

According to the Kenderdine book, Robert was courting Hannah Simpson, a daughter of John Simpson and Rebecca Weir of Horsham. Between 1818-1821 John Simpson (widower) and his family moved to Ohio. On 24 June 1821 Hannah married Jesse Root Grant at Pt. Pleasant, Mason Co., OH, they are the parents of Gen. Hiram Ulysses Simpson Grant, 16th President of the United States.
