Notes for Margaret Stewart SPRINGER
Margaret Springer Marvel Denham, known to her many friends as "Marnie," passed away March 9, 2015. She was 81.
A resident of the Wilmington area all her life, she was the daughter of Frederika Nesbitt and William Lobdell Springer. For many years, she and her late husband, William Bailey Denham, also maintained a home in Stonington, CT.
Mrs. Denham attended Tower Hill School in Wilmington and graduated from the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, CT. For many years, she was active in community work around Wilmington, including the Junior Board of the old Delaware Hospital, the Christmas Shop of Trinity Episcopal Church, Gilpin Hall, and the Pilot School. More recently, following the death of her second husband, she had been a resident of the Stonegates Retirement Community in Greenville. Mrs. Denham was also predeceased by her first husband, MacFaddin Dick Marvel.
Mrs. Denham is survived by a son, James MacFaddin Dick Marvel of Kennett Square; a daughter, Margaret Stewart Denham Joseph and her husband, Jay; and by grandchildren, Joshua James and Bailey Denham, both of Stonington, and Mellissa J. Lusk of Denver, CO.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Pilot School, 100 Garden of Eden Road, Wilmington, DE 1980
