Notes for Mary Elizabeth WEBSTER
Mary Elizabeth Webster Nickle Kavanaugh of Brandywine Hundred, Del. Mary Elizabeth Webster Nickle Kavanaugh, age 98, a lifelong resident of Brandywine Hundred, died on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. She was born in 1916 to Clark W. Webster and Mary Elizabeth Derickson. She was predeceased by her sisters, Isabelle Booth and Ruth Parker Carlow and her brothers, Clark W. Webster and William M. (Buddy) Webster; by her first husband Andrew Oliver Nickle and her second husband Edward Charles Kavanaugh; three of her six children, Ruth Nickle Pettee, Joan Nickle Boyle and John Louis Nickle; grandson Edward Charles Pettee and son-in-law Bob Casseday. Mary is survived by her son Andrew Oliver “Bucky” Nickle and his wife Yoshiko of Vienna, Va., daughters Mary “Betty” Nickle Casseday of Lewes, Del. and May Nickle McClure of Wilmington, Del., daughter-in-law Joanne Chew Nickle of Claymont, Del., fifteen grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Chester Bethel United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday Feb. 24 where friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Chester Bethel United Methodist Church, 2619 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19810 or Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Hill Rd., Newark, DE 19711.
