Notes for James Francis HOPTON
James F. Hopton, 77, formerly of Coatesville, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at his home in Berlin, Md. He was the husband of Jacqueline G. Hopton, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late George and Anna Leslie Hopton. James served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as an inspector with Lukens Steel Company. James was an avid reader, an Eagles and Phillies fan and he enjoyed his years of living at the shore. James was the father of Melanie R. Smith of Parkesburg, Joseph G. Hopton of Downingtown and Kenneth J. Hopton of Coatesville; step-father of Jodi A. Thompson, wife of Jerry of Columbia and Debra M. Sullenberger of Lancaster; and brother of A. Kenneth Hopton of Coatesville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons: Frank A. Hopton and Jimmy Lang; sisters: Thelma Marshman and Sara Busbee and a brother Robert Hopton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Interment will be Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery, Coatesville.
