Notes for Dorothy B. MEREDITH
Dorothy B. Miles of West Chester Dorothy B. Miles, 92, of West Chester, died on Dec. 1, 2014 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. She was the wife of the late John B. Miles and the late Francis Lewis Bruce. Dorothy was born on July 7, 1922 in West Whiteland Twp., to the late Charles R. and Edith T. Thompson Meredith. She was a lifelong resident of West Chester, living on the family farm. Dorothy attended Greenwood School and West Chester High School, where she was valedictorian of her 1939 graduation class. She enjoyed her secretarial career at Nolan Feed Store in Malvern, and later at Carr Liquid Transport in Frazer. She was a lifelong member of Grove United Methodist Church in West Chester, where she was a former church organist, secretary and treasurer. Dorothy raised her family with love and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her children, Jane Baily (Barnard) of Pocopson Twp., and Robert Bruce (Gina) of West Chester; three grandchildren, Meredith Parsons, Rebecca Baily (Eric Cockroft) and Michael Bruce (Brooke); and one great-grandson, Tyler Parsons. Services and interment are private.
