Lillian Broomall Wood of West Chester
She was the widow of Bruce A. Wood Sr.
Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Allan D. and Ada Burnett Broomall Sr.
She lived in West Chester since 1934; prior to that, she resided in Phoenixville.
She felt very proud of being a foster mother, an endeavor she considered her life's calling.
She drove a school bus, from age 65 to 72, for George Krapf Jr. & Sons Inc., and was fondly called and known by her co-workers as Tiger.
She was a longtime member of the Baptist Church of West Chester, where she was involved with the American Baptist Women's Mission Circle and the "Young at Heart" group. Prior to that, she was a former member of the Bible Presbyterian Church, West Chester.
Lillian is survived by her children, Bruce A. Wood Jr. of West Chester, Joan W. Forwood of Downingtown and Laurie S. Walton of West Chester; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 1, at the Baptist Church of West Chester, 221 S. High St., West Chester, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Green Mount Cemetery, West Goshen.
