Notes for Jeannette DOMBACH
Jeannette D. Marlin, 71, of Lancaster, beloved wife and mother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 27, 2010, after a courageous five- year battle with cancer.
Jeannette was born on December 18, 1938, in Lancaster County. She was a daughter of the late Paul H. and Lena Martin Dombach. She is survived by her beloved husband, R. F. "Pete" Marlin Jr., with whom she was married for 49?? years. They would have been married 50 years in December.
Jeannette graduated from Solanco High School and did her undergraduate studies at Millersville Teacher's College. She earned her Master's Degree in Education and Reading from Marywood College in Scranton. She taught 43 years in public and private schools. Her last full-time teaching position was at Lititz Christian School. After her retirement in June 2005, Jeannette taught and tutored part time for American Home Life, teaching English as a Second Language. Jeannette was an avid reader who loved gardening, enjoyed cooking and entertaining others. She also enjoyed working with her international students, and was a member of the Red Hat ladies group. Jeannette attended Calvary Church in Lancaster.
In addition to her husband, Jeannette is survived by a daughter, Robin Ann Marlin, and five siblings: Martin, husband of Carolyn Dombach, Ellen, wife of Dennis Henry, Nathan Dombach, companion of Mary DeHart, Harvey, husband of Barbara Dombach, and Alvin Dombach. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Dr. H. Benjamin Marlin and his wife, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Speakman and her husband. Twenty nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends also survive Jeannette.
Memorial Services will be held at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601, on Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 11:30 AM with Pastor Todd Nathan officiating. Private graveside services and interment will take place at Mount Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Quarryville.
