Doris Fleu Barnard of Unionville

She was the wife of Samuel Milton Barnard, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage.
Born in Germantown, she was the daughter of the late Norton D. and Emma Brack Fleu.
Doris graduated in 1944 from West Chester State Teachers College, and taught for 17 years in the Cheltenham School District.
She assisted her husband in operating the family business at Barnard's Orchards and Greenhouses. She also volunteered at Pocopson Home for 30 years.
A committed Christian, she founded and led many Bible study groups around the Unionville area. She attended Marlborough Friends Meeting, where she led Sunday morning Bible studies.
Doris was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother and grandmother.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, was an avid reader, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles.
She was a member of the Chester County Hospital East Marlborough Auxiliary; was active with the East Lynn Grange; and was a member of the former Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jonathan Paul Taylor of Kennett Square, and Richard Webb Barnard of White Hall, Md.; one daughter, Anne Barnard Nuse of Kennett Square; one sister, Virginia L. Fleu of Penney Farms, Fla.; and grandchildren, Stephen, Robin, Matthew, Andrew, Rachel, Sarah, Mikaela, Rebekah, Zachary, and Olivia.
Family and friends are invited to attend Doris' life celebration from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Kuzo & Gofus Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," State and Meredith streets, Kennett Square.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, at Unionville Presbyterian Church, 815 Wollaston Road, Unionville.
Interment will be in Unionville Cemetery.
