Notes for Jerome Alphonso Morgan Jr. PRICE

Jerome A. M. Price, Jr. passed away October 23, 2015, at Crozer Hospital.

He was born to the late Bessie and Jerome A. M. Price, Sr. Jerome entered the U.S. Army at Ft. Dix, NJ, on October 7, 1942. He achieved the rank of Tech 5, Infantry, Company B, 15th Armored Infantry Battalion. Jerome participated in the following campaigns: North Africa, Central Europe, Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), and the Rhineland (German). He received the following ribbons and medals: Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB); and, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Star Medals. He was honorably discharged on January 2, 1946. Jerome was a member of the American Legion, Post 194, Rising Sun, MD.

He, along with his wife Alice and son Morgan, owned and operated Price's Flowers, Ltd., in Boothwyn, PA, for over 65 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Alice Rose (Talley) Price, his siblings: Bessie D. Pyle, Joseph V. Price, and Frances S. Gough. Jerome is survived by his son, J. A. Morgan Price, III, and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road) Wilmington, DE, 19803 where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Chester Bethel Cemetery.
