Reba W. (Pyle) Kelsey received her schooling in Chester, Pennsylvania, and graduated as a trained nurse from the Chester Hospital in 1897. She held the position of superintendent of nurses at Bridgeton Hospital, New Jersey, from 1903 to 1907, then came west to carry on her nursing career in Center, Colorado, in the San Joaquin Valley and in Dunsmuir, California.
