Notes for John William FARRADAY

Second Son Of Martin & Louisa (Verlinden) Farraday; Was a ships carpenter,by trade served in 2 regiments in the Civil War, 1st.with 114th Pa. Vols. Co I. and with the Navy, as John Rillington, on the USS. Hunchback in 1864-65 in Jamestown, Va. Mustered out in 1865, Returned to Chester, Pa. Passing awayin October of 1914, at the age of 73. Married twice, 1st wife Mary Lilley in 1867; she died in 1868. 2nd wife Martha S. Keenan, Daughter Of James & Susanna (Worrilow) Kennan of Chester County; Pa. Mr. Farraday married in 1872,in Chester, Pa. 2 Children were born to Martha (Mattie) Farraday & John Farraday; 1st. child: Mary Bertha,in 1873. & 2nd child: Frank Lester, in 1878. John Farraday was in the Peach Orchard Battle with Gen. Sikles, in July 1st. 2nd. 3rd. 1863, in the battle at Gettysburg, Pa.
