She loved little dogs and was never without one in her home, and indeed, they were a big part of her family. In her younger days, she was an excellent bowler in the local women's league. Despite the fact that they rarely played cards, she was an active member of a ladies bridge club, and never missed her regularly scheduled night out with the girls.

She had been a longtime member of The First Presbyterian Church of West Chester where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served as a church officer. Until she lost her ability to drive, she was very active in the Meals on Wheels program. She loved the Jersey Shore and spent many, many happy summers in Surf City, N.J. with her children and grandchildren.
Despite her age, she was always right in the middle of whatever was happening, be it Wiffle ball, fishing, eating crabs and clams, feeding seagulls, miniature golf, or an evening walk to the ice cream parlor.
