Notes for Joseph Winfield TREGO
Joseph Winfield Trego of Brandamore J. Winfield (Winnie) Trego, 81, died peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2014, following an illness. He was born April 20, 1932, the eldest of six of the late Howard P. Sr. and Margaret (Ortlip) Trego. Winnie grew up in Upper Uwchlan and graduated from West Chester High School in 1949. Winnie lived mostly in Glenmoore as a dairy farmer for over 25 years and later operated a landscaping business. Winnie served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman stationed in Heidelberg, Germany from 1954 to 1956. Winnie actively volunteered for the National Farmers Organization (NFO) and conducted dairy inspections throughout the mid-Atlantic. He was devoted to his family and served his local community as a Zoning Officer for Wallace Township. Winnie was an avid bowler at Ingleside and Frazer Lanes and also enjoyed dancing. Surviving is a daughter and two sons; (Colonel Retired) Julie (Trego) and her husband (Major Retired) John Manta of Carlisle; son, Michael J. and his wife Julie (Forrest) Trego of Glenmoore, and Darryl C., and his wife Roseanne (Forrest) Trego of Thompsontown, Pa.; two brothers, Howard P. Trego Jr. of Glenmoore and Ralph S. Trego of Turbotville, Pa. There are nine grandchildren, James E., Darryl Christopher, Michael J. Jr., and Nicholas J. Trego; Davis and Harry Colton, and Daniel, Jeffrey, and Rebecca Trego, and one great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Trego; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Trego and Ortlip families. Preceding him in death was his wife V. Marie (Painter) and two brothers, Thomas L., John L., and a sister, Peggy Shaw of Jacksonville, Fla. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 5th, at the Glenmoore United Methodist Church, 1920 Creek Rd., Glenmoore, with Pastor Ralph Cain, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at the adjoining cemetery with military honors.
