Notes for Edna NICHOLS
Edna N. Rigby Age 101 of Bear, DE passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at Sunbridge Care in Elkton, MD.
Edna was born in West Grove, PA October 14, 1900 to the late Ellwood and Rebecca Speakman (Fell) Nichols. She lived in Hammorton and Fairville, PA until 1939 when she moved to Bear, DE. She was a graduate of Kennett High School in 1920.
Mrs. Rigby's husband of 34 years passed away in November 1956. She is survived by her son, Ellwood T. Rigby of Newark; her daughter, Ruth E. Campbell and her husband, LeRoy of Bear; grandchildren, Wayne E. Rigby, Paul C. Rigby, Donald L. Campbell and Jeffrey M. Campbell; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Seth Rigby; a brother, Wilmer E. Nichols; and twin sister, Emma N. Powell.
Edna will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening and helping her grandson, Donnie with his greenhouse work.
Relatives and friends are invited to Edna's Life Celebration on Saturday, August 10, 2002 from 9:30-10:30 am followed by her funeral service at 10:30 am at BEESON MEMORIAL SERVICES OF NEWARK, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Fox Run, Rt.40, 453-1900. Interment will be in the Newark Methodist Cemetery.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Pencader Presbyterian Church, 2303 Glasgow Ave., Newark, DE 19702.
