Notes for George Wesley Jr. PENNELL
WORTON George W. Pennell Jr. of Worton died Friday May 2, 2008, at his home. He was 71.
Born in New Castle, Del., Mr. Pennell was the son of the late George W. and Anna Peters Pennell.
Mr. Pennell was a collection officer for the Peoples Bank of Kent County Maryland, Chestertown, retiring in 2000. In the early '60s, Mr. Pennell was a pressman for Baltimore Business Forms in Chestertown.
He also worked as the circulation manager of The Baltimore News American paper from 1967 to 1986. Mr. Pennell has owned and operated C-Town Laundromat since 1981.
He enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the Athletic Department of Washington College.
Mr. Pennell loved his pets, coffee time with his group of buddies to solve the problems of the world, relaxing with family and friends and most importantly sharing in all the growing up experiences of his granddaughters.
Mr. Pennell was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances C. Pennell; two daughters, Anna Ruth Tubman of Chestertown and Nony Howell of Worton; a granddaughter,Rachel Crampsey and her husband Kevin of New York, N.Y.; a granddaughter Sam Howell of Worton; one sister, Helen Kennard of Worton; one brother, Samuel Pennell of New Castle, Del.; and a dear friend Betsy Kain of Harrisonburg, Va.
