Notes for Rachel BACON
Rachel Bacon Bull of Garnet Valley Rachel Bacon Bull, 72, of Garnet Valley, who taught for West Chester Friends School for 25 years, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania of a stroke. Rachel was born on May 21, 1944 in Detroit, Mich. to the late Francis Farquhar Bacon and Julia Armour. She graduated from Westtown School, class of 1962. Rachel met her husband Richard Alden Bull as a freshman at Goddard College, a small liberal-arts school in Plainfield, Vt. They married in June 1966, after she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. They were together nearly 49 years, until his death from blood cancer in December 2014. She is survived by her daughter, two sons and their families: Tabitha B. and her husband Thomas Shuey, and their daughters Claire and Gail; Benjamin B. Bull and his wife Mia Gannon; and George Bull and his wife Jennifer Bull, and their sons Thomas Donnelly and George. Her siblings Bert Bacon, Becky Morgan, MaryAnn Bacon-Edgerton, Sara Jane Duffey and Pattie Keegan also survive her. Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Westtown Friends Meetinghouse, 975 Westtown Rd., West Chester, PA 19382 (located on the east side entrance of the Westtown School Campus). Interment will be private.
