Notes for Ella Thomson HOOGERWERFF

Ella Thomson (Hoogerweff) Pardue, 78, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on March 24, 2007, while residing at the home of her son and daughter-in-law of Lititz. Mrs. Pardue battled Alzheimer's disease for over two years before her passing. She was the wife of the late Harold "Tex" Pardue, who passed away in June of 1978. Born in Philadelphia, Ella was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Charlotte Hoogerwerff. She is survived by her son, (Capt.) Thomas H. Pardue, married to Sharon of Lititz; two grandchildren, Christopher Pardue of South Carolina, Jennifer Drobnik of Holtwood; four great grandchildren, Josh Pardue, Jesse, Marshall and Sarah Drobnik. Six siblings survive, William Hoogerwerff of West Chester, Oliver Hoogerwerff of Ridley Park, Leroy Hoogerwerff married to Wilda of Norwood, DE, (Major USMC, Ret.) John Hoogerwerff married to Florence of Strasburg and Margaretha married to Edward Reichart of Mt. Laurel, NJ. She was preceded in death by six siblings. Mrs. Pardue's joy was her family and friends. She worked as a waitress for over thirty years; after which she enjoyed traveling, bowling and the senior center. Landis Valley Day Care services were greatly responsible for her coping with her disease during her last days.
