Notes for Mary Elizabeth FAGAN
Mary Elizabeth Fagan Cloud passed away peacefully on September 22, 2013 at age 95 at her Rockland Place home after a brief illness.
Born in Wilmington in 1918, Mary grew up on the family farm on DuPont Road and attended St. Thomas parish school and A.I. duPont High School. She lived in Montchanin and Brandywine Springs Manor before moving to Rockland Place in 2011 where she received so much love from the caring staff. Mary was so proud of her Irish heritage and never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or other event and will be fondly remembered by all who received her cards over many decades. She was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed many summers in Rehoboth. Mary made many new friends at Rockland Place where she joined nearly every activity.
Mary's husband, Allen Cloud, preceded her in death in 2000 after 55 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her sister, Susan Trembly and brother, Thomas Fagan.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Cloud Moxon and her husband Peter of Williamsburg, VA; grandson, David Moxon of Philadelphia; granddaughter, Julia Cloud Tyler and her husband Robert of Beverly, MA; two great grandsons, Brody and Colin Tyler; sister, Eleanor Doherty; and many loving nieces and nephews and their children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 27th at 10:30am at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Rd., Greenville, DE, where family and friends may visit from 9:30 to 10:30am. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE
