Notes for Richard Avis JARRETT

Richard Avis Jarrett, 58, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013.
Born and raised in Hopewell, he was a graduate of Hopewell High School and attended Hopewell Church of the Nazarene. Richard's work history includes Philip Morris, Earl West Construction and Honeywell from 1992 to the present. He was the lead singer in the band Axeworthy in the '70s and '80s, and was an avid catch and release fisherman with his son. Richard was a kind and loving son, husband and father. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Tyler Jarrett "The Bull"; his father, William Vincent Jarrett; his father-in-law, Charlie Franklin Carter; and his beloved pets, Lola and Foxy.
He is survived by his wife, MaryAnne Carter Jarrett; his mother, Elva Rodgers Jarrett of Hopewell; his son, Kalen Adam Blehm of Virginia Beach; brothers, William Darlington Jarrett and Jerry Vincent Jarrett; mother-in-law, Nellie Carter Hinch; father-in-law, Louis Hinch; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Carter Lanier, Alyse Carter Wozniak, Glenda Carter and Jewell Carter Feenstra; brothers-in-law, Michael Feenstra, Richmond Wollstein, Clint Lanier, David Wozniak and Farryl Essig; nieces, nephews and cousins, David Amick, Patrick O. Amick III, SuniAryn Amick, Evan Essig, Austin Essig, Stacy Acree, Brett Foster, Lindsey Essig, Colleen Culleen, BobbiJo Miller, Jadah Miller Newton, Adam Wollstein, Rihanna Wollstein, Melissa Jarrett, Pete Jarrett, Billy Jarrett, Jill, Denise, Jason, Conner, Noah, Justin and Joel Jarrett, Ava Reed, Kenzlee Amick, Lillian Essig, Landry "Tyler" Essig and Gentry Foster, as well as many cousins and nieces out of the area.
