Huldah Cheek Sharp was the daughter of coffee magnate Leslie Cheek Sr. and Mabel Wood Cheek, builders of Cheek Estate. Huldah inherited the estate in the mid 1940's. In the 1950's she and her husband Walter Sharp decided to sell the site. Several Nashville organizations came together to purchase the Cheek Estate and to turn it into Cheekwood, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state of Tennessee.
