Notes for Ellwood Pennock Jr. WAY
Ellwood P. Way, Jr., age 74, died Monday, May 6, 2013 at Christiana Hospital.
Ellwood, known by his friends as Woody, attended Mt. Pleasant High School. He was drafted into the Army and served for two years. Woody worked for many years at Hercules, and later retired from Dart at the age of 65. In his spare time Woody enjoyed fly fishing, camping, travelling, and played the guitar and harmonica in a bluegrass band.
Woody was predeceased by his parents, Ellwood, Sr. and Rose Way. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Way; sons, Ellwood P. Way, III (Tracy), and Andrew L. Way (Regina Marie); 6 grandchildren, William, Alexia, Kaitlynne, Rosalind, Dakota, and Harrison; and sister, Roseann Beers (Richard).
A viewing will be held on Monday, May 13th from 6-8 pm at the McCRERY & HARRA Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202, S. of Silverside Rd.), Wilmington, DE 19803. The funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, May 14th at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church of the Atonement, 3519 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Interment will follow the service at Silverbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in Woody’s name to the United Methodist Church of the Atonement.
