Margaret 'Peggy' Hoopes of West Chester Margaret "Peggy" Hoopes, 92, of West Chester, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford. She was the wife of Paul E. Hoopes, with whom she shared 71 years of marriage. Born in Marshallton, she was the daughter of the late Paul L. and Lydia Yearsley Leslie. She worked as a cafeteria employee in the Westtown-Thornbury Elementary school. She was family oriented and loved to cook, knit and enjoyed traveling to their beach house in Brigantine, N.J. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester and the Forty Niners Chorus. In addition to her husband, Peggy is survived by two daughters, Pamela J. Leonhard and her husband, Allen of Newark, Del. and Sandra L. Jones and her husband, Charles of Avondale; a son, P. Edwin Hoopes, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Downingtown; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Peters of Allentown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Williamson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610-696-0134, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery, West Bradford Township.
