Notes for Lois M. DAWSON

Lois Dawson Hartshorne of Malvern Lois Dawson Hartshorne, 84, of Malvern, passed away on March 12, 2013, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, following an extended illness. She was born in Berwyn on Sept. 10, 1928 to Mabel and Theodore B. Dawson Sr. She attended Tredyffrin-Eastown High School and married her high school sweetheart, R. Lyndel Hartshorne, on May 22, 1948. Together, they celebrated a beautiful lifetime of more than 65 years. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose priority in life was her family. She also worked for 18 years for National Liberty Insurance Co. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Steven Hartshorne, and five dearly loved grandchildren: Jennifer and Casey Hartshorne and Jessica, Tom and Matt Colameco. She is survived by her brother, Walter Dawson and her sister, Phoebe Dawson Gooding, both of Chester Springs. She leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Holly Hartshorne, and a son-in-law, Louis B. Colameco III. Lois' family offers its heartfelt thanks to her wonderful nurses at Neighborhood Hospice and at Paoli Hospital. Your compassion was inspiring. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a life celebration service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, at Mauger Givnish Funeral Home in Malvern. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Philadelphia Cancer Transportation Fund in honor of Lois' daughter, the late Barbara A.
