Notes for Annabelle LAWS
Annabelle L. Weldin, age 84, of Bear, DE passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Christiana Hospital after a short illness surrounded by her loving family. Annabelle was born on February 10, 1929 to the late Norman H. Laws, Sr. & Ruth V. (Morrison) Laws.
Annabelle was a native Delawarean; she grew up in the Bear/Glasgow area on a farm. She was an active lifelong member of the Pencader Grange #60 and worked at the Delaware State Fair in the grange for many years. Annabelle was employed at Dayett Mills in Newark as a bookkeeper. She attended Red Lion United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Newark Senior Center. Annabelle loved reading the paper, following politics and the business news. She enjoyed advising her family, always wanting the best for each of them. She loved to talk and inquire about everyone's lives. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her two granddaughters. She loved spending time with her family during the holidays and any special event when all were together.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters; Charlene A.W. Marinelli, Albert Marinelli, Hillary Marinelli and Aly Marinelli of New Castle, DE; brother, Pierce Earl Laws and his wife Barbara of Wilmington, DE; sisters, Janet Abernathy of Newark, DE and Shirley Amato and her husband Victor of Newark, DE; sister-in-law, June Weldin of Wilmington, DE; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Charles S. R. Weldin, Jr.; brothers, Norman Laws, Jr. and Robert Laws.
A service will be held 11:00am on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at R. T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711 where family and friends may call starting at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.
